As the technology powerhouse of ProSep Inc, we continuously develop new technologies for oil, gas and produced water treatment. Here are some of the projects we are working on:

- ProDry - GAS DEHYDRATION WITH THE PROPURE CONTACTOR

Building on ProPure's long experience with co-current contacting, a Joint Industry Project (JIP) comprising ConocoPhillips, Chevron, Total and StatoilHydro is addressing the potential of gas dehydration with the ProPure contactor.

The ProPure contactor is an inline injector/mixer which is widely used for H2S removal from gas using amines or scavengers, replacing contacting towers. This approach saves footprint, weight and operating expenditure related to chemical consumption, storage and handling.

The JIP has had encouraging results so far verifying:

  • Reduced contactor size and weight at actual process condition
  • Operational robustness, advantages related to turn-down, flooding and foaming
  • Mitigation of CO2 corrosion and H2S scale build-up in downstream contactor vessels

The most attractive applications are:

  • Debottlenecking of existing dehydration units (1-stage ProDry)
  • Fuel gas dehydration (1- and 2-stage ProDry)
  • Dehydration for gas reinjection (1-stage ProDry)
  • Long distance transportation with moderate and low dew point reduction (1 and 2-stage ProDry)
  • Subsea gas dehydration


- ProMix - DEMULSIFIER INJECTION IN CRUDE OIL

In 2008 we concluded a successful qualification of ProSalt with Saudi Aramco which showed substantial reductions in pressure drop, reduced wash water consumption and a superior oil/water separation. As a follow up project, we are testing the savings that a similar mixer system - ProMix - can have in crude streams where demulsifier is injected.
