ProPure AS is a Norwegian
company which supplies the oil industry with treatment
technologies for produced water. The unique CTour
process removes both dissolved and dispersed hydrocarbon
contaminants. It is currently considered Best Available
Technology (BAT) for treatment of large volumes of
produced water.
The CTour technology was
originally developed at RF Rogaland Research in
collaboration with most of the operating companies on
the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The proprietary
technology and underlying process model have been
validated through a series field tests, and is now
commissioned for full scale installation at six offshore
production facilities in the North Sea .
By 2007, the water treatment
capacity of these installations comprises 2/3 of the
projected produced water discharge at the Norwegian
Continental Shelf.
